For the whole of her teenage years, Rosa was a massive Australian comedy nerd. The Doug Anthony All Stars, Tripod, and Lano and Woodley dominated those years. While her comedy taste has changed, the potential for theatricality, darkness and absurdity in live comedy has stayed with her.
An abortive high-school theatre sports career and ukulele cover band later, Rosa finally decided to take the plunge and do an improv class in 2010. Watching hundreds of comedy shows, live and online, including Brisbane theatre sports and Upright Citizen’s Brigade Theatre made improv the most exciting choice.
Rosa and her improv teams have had successful runs of their shows at the Anywhere Theatre Festival, Brisbane Fringe Festival and Melbourne International Comedy Festival.
After a life changing and mind-blowing trip to Chicago for the iO Summer Intensive improvisation program, stopping off in New York to gorge on pizza and Upright Citizen’s Brigade, Rosa felt the urge to be a part of making a long form improv community happen back home in Brisbane - Big Fork is that community.
