Big Fork Theatre is proud to announce the return of Rogue Create and Print as a Gold level sponsor of the Big Fork Comedy Festival in 2025. This marks the third consecutive year of sponsorship from Rogue, and Brisbane comedy audiences are all the happier for it. The Big Fork Comedy Festival 2025, running from 18–26 July, celebrates ten years of Big Fork Theatre and has grown from its roots in improv to include stand-up, sketch, and MC-led comedy. This year’s program features over 25 live performances, 24 workshops, and a special Gala event at Brisbane Powerhouse.

Local comedy institution Big Fork Theatre has this week announced the full program of artists and teachers to be expected at the inaugural Big Fork Comedy Festival - a new event in Brisbane’s cultural calendar, running from 18 to 26 July 2025. The Festival marks ten years since the theatre’s founding and features over 25 live shows, 24 workshops and extra events celebrating Brisbane’s fast-expanding independent comedy scene.
Whilst this is the first festival to bear the Big Fork Comedy Festival name, it builds on the success of the Brisbane Improv Festival, produced annually by Big Fork Theatre since 2021. The new festival expands its scope to include stand-up, sketch and live MCing – all that makes us laugh.
What to Expect:
More than 25 original performances, including long-running local favourites (Wer Ya From?, Women’s Show, Queer Show) and works never before seen in Brisbane (Cupid’s Guide to Modern Romance, Joy Riders, Comedy World League, Wizards at the Supermarket).
The 10 Years of Big Fork Comedy Gala at the Brisbane Powerhouse on Wednesday 23 July, showcasing the theatre’s favourite and finest performers.
A broad and accessible range of comedy workshops covering improv, character work, musical comedy, stand-up and more.

The Brisbane Improv Festival returns 18–26 July 2025 at Big Fork Theatre as part of the Big Fork Comedy Festival - celebrating 10 years of Big Fork Theatre.
This year the program will feature Improv, Sketch and Stand Up Comedy to celebrate everything that makes Big Fork Theatre special.
WHAT IS THE BRISBANE IMPROV FESTIVAL?
The Brisbane Improv Festival is a celebration of Brisbane's diverse and talented improv community.
Hosted by Big Fork Theatre since the inaugural festival in 2021, it’s now held at our theatre in Fortitude Valley. Celebrating all things improvised comedy, the Brisbane Improv Festival will showcase some of this city’s best and most innovative comedians and performers as well as visiting guests across five nights of live shows and workshops.
