WHAT IS THE BRISBANE IMPROV FESTIVAL?

No scripts. No safety net. Just pure, hilarious improv.

From the 23rd - 31st of July 2027, the Brisbane Improv Festival takes over Fortitude Valley for nine days of comedy created live on stage. Brisbane's funniest and most inventive improvisers share the spotlight with guest performers from across Australia and beyond, and every show is a one-off you'll never see again.

Improvised musicals, fast and silly comedy, surprise guests and plenty more fill the program.

Whether you're a longtime fan or completely new to improv, there's a show for you. Improvisers can also level up at our festival workshops, led by some of the best teachers in the scene and open to all experience levels. Keen to be part of it? Big Fork Theatre has hosted the festival since it began in 2021, and it has grown into one of the city's must-see comedy events.
