WHAT IS THE BRISBANE IMPROV FESTIVAL?

The Brisbane Improv Festival is a celebration of Brisbane's diverse and talented improv community.

This year’s festival will be held on the 14th - 18th of July 2026 - that’s five nights of incredible improvised shows open to the public, and we will host 14 different workshops for improvisers to expand their skills. Previous Festivals had shows from around Australia and New Zealand, this festival is not to be missed!

Expressions of Interest are now open for the fifth annual Brisbane Improv Festival. We are seeking improv comedy shows of all styles and formats, and workshops focused on helping improvisers grow and expand their skills.

Hosted by Big Fork Theatre since the inaugural festival in 2021, it’s now held at our theatre in Fortitude Valley. Celebrating all things improvised comedy, the Brisbane Improv Festival will showcase some of this city’s best and most innovative comedians and performers as well as visiting guests across five nights of live shows and workshops.
