Are Talking Pigs Canon? Building a Long Form Genre Based Show

Presented by Steve Brady of Giant Nerd Australia (Tarndanya/Adelaide) as part of the Brisbane Improv Festival 2026.

Steve from Giant Nerd Australia wants to share his secrets to creating long form improv shows based on your favourite genre. Learn how to create predefined characters, relationships and settings to build a show and grow a canon. Workshop participants will have the chance to be cast in a show "House of the Bogan" that same evening.

Giant Nerd Australia have been producing nerd adjacent theater in Adelaide for a decade. Better known for our improvised sci fi show "Galactic Trek", we're thrilled to bring this workshop and associated show to Brisbane..

Participants may be cast from the workshop to perform in House of the Bogan. Casting is at the discretion of the facilitator.

Workshop Length: 3 hours

Recommended experience level: Intermediate (1-3 years experience)

Meet Steve (he/him)
Steve Brady is an established performer in the Adelaide improv scene. He founded Giant Nerd Australia to produce, create and perform in nerdy theatre shows; improvised and scripted. He's performed in the USA and Canada, and will be his first workshop and show in Brisbane. WARNING : He loves Dad Jokes.
