Codifying Improv
Presented by Cam Watson of Big Fork Theatre (Brisbane/Meanjin) as part of the Big Fork Comedy Festival 2025.
Say Yes, build on the idea and don't block - the rules of improv are pretty simple, right? It's basic stuff.
But.... sometimes we like to delve a little deeper. Codifying improv will help give you more improv language to describe the moves we already do naturally and open up more ways to engage with your fellow performers during scenes.
This workshop is perfect for the improv nerds and anyone struggling to describe what they are seeing in improv shows.
This work is inspired by Will Hines' 'Sympathetic Disagreement' and Kevin Mullaney's 'Sympathetic Engagement'
Workshop Length: 3 hours
Recommended experience level: Intermediate (1-3 years experience)
