Playing With Your Voice
Presented by Eleanor Stankiewicz (Melbourne/Naarm) as part of the Big Fork Comedy Festival 2025.
Is voice an afterthought during scenes or creating characters? This workshop will encourage improvisers to develop and discover characters using their voices and physicality in imaginative ways. NIDA Acting and Voice graduate, Eleanor Stankiewicz, will share her favourite vocal tips, tricks, and tools to help participants bring joy and musicality to their play.
Join Eleanor as she shares various exercises and approaches to voice training, drawing from her experience as an actor and long-form improvisation practitioner and facilitator. Explore your voice from the perspective of play. This workshop will be shaped by the offers made by the participants, with a focus on curiosity and spontaneity to encourage freedom of expression.
Workshop Length: 2 hours
Recommended experience level: Beginner (less than 12 months experience)
Participants need to know: This is a physical workshop that is participant-led, so wear something you are comfortable moving in, and bring your water bottle. As this is a voice workshop, there will often be a lot of noise happening simultaneously and could be sensorially overwhelming.
